Dr Pizaro has said of the program "Our aim is to explore the brain and consciousness to more fully understand ourselves. We can pay attention to what is going on within and around us instead of operating on auto-pilot. Attentive breathing and body scan techniques also aim to sharpen body awareness and strengthen the mind-body connection. We can reduce stress, unlock creativity and boost performance.”

Within this course we will undertake several methods of meditation practice:

The 3 major Buddhist Techniques
- Focused attention including breathing awareness to improve concentration,
- Mindfulness through observation and stream of consciousness,
- Compassion in cultivating feelings of empathy and kindness to increase peace and avoid burnout.

We will also explore visualization techniques to quiet the mind, restore balance and facilitate goal setting.

In addition we will experience progressive muscle relaxation; an integrated, medically researched method to develop a relaxed, focused mind and body.

The techniques taught have been proven by Neuroscience to increase beneficial brain activity and diminish the stress response leading to increased happiness. Former participants can attest to the benefits gained.

Mindfulness has a fundamental connection to Tai Chi where the control of breath and awareness of energy empowers the practice and the practitioner.

Mindfulness meditation brings people into contact with their potential and helps discover and define their purpose in life. Meditation practitioners develop empathy, show greater compassion, and communicate more thoughtfully.

Make this your time- it’s in your hands.
